About the branch and role

We have an exciting opportunity for two lawyers to join the Royal Commissions Branch as a Senior Solicitor or Principal Solicitor.

The Royal Commissions Branch provides legal services in relation to a number of Royal Commissions and the successful applicants for these vacancies would work across:

  • Aged Care Quality & Safety Royal Commission
  • Victorian Mental Health System Royal Commission
  • Inquiry into the 2019-20 Victorian Fire Season by the Inspector-General Emergency Management
  • Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements (interim law firm)

These roles will provide specialist legal services and advice to the State Government, in alignment with each Royal Commission/Inquiries Terms of Reference requirements. Day to day tasks would include advice work, witness preparation, responding to notices to produce and drafting State submissions.
