About our ED


Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department/Short Stay Unit/Clinical Decision Unit is seeking critical care registered nurses with sound and recent emergency nursing experience. Box Hill Emergency Department cares for over 70,000 patients annually, with an average of 195 presentations per day including O&G, paediatrics, neurology, cardiac, general medicine, renal, surgical and mental health. Together with the Intensive Care Unit, Box Hill ED staff now perform Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR). We are one of only 3 Victorian hospitals that give our patients this opportunity. We also have a close working relationship with Ambulance Victoria.

As a member of the Box Hill Emergency team, you will be part of a highly dedicated multi-disciplinary team incorporating medical, nursing, clerical and allied health professionals. What you need:



  • Current registration with AHPRA (essential)

  • Recent emergency nursing experience (within Australia)

  • Postgraduate emergency stream qualifications will be highly regarded

  • An empathetic and personable demeanour

  • A strong commitment to high quality care

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
