The Role

The City is seeking an experienced Council Support Officer who will become a collaborative member of the Council & Corporate Support team. The successful applicant will be accountable for providing administrative assistance, high level agenda preparation and minute taking and overall support towards the Council decision-making process and statutory compliance, ensuring that service delivery is timely, effective and meets both customer needs and corporate standards.

This role communicates with a range of customers and stakeholders including Elected Members, vendors & suppliers, the business community, members of the public and City of Wanneroo Leaders and employees. This position is also required to attend Council/Committee meetings after hours for the purpose of taking minutes.

Skills and Experience

The successful appointee must have a high level of attention to detail, be adaptable, resilient, be able to interpret and apply applicable legislation and thrive in a very busy and change driven organisation. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their comprehensive CV and covering letter that they meet all the required capabilities as outlined in the position description including:

Qualification in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration or relevant experience.
Advanced computing, numeracy and literacy skills with an ability to proofread written material.
Advanced organisational and time managements skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, contributing to a cohesive environment and supporting colleagues in a proactive manner.
