How will I help?
This ‘Manager’ position supports risk management and monitoring, including the implementation of, and adherence to, risk management frameworks, policies and controls in the Risk, Analytics & Insights team (RA&I).
The role is expected to support a strong risk culture that embodies Westpac’s ethics and integrity, while balancing commercial and customer needs.
This ‘Manager’ position sits within a team that will manage compliance with the current and future prudential standards owned by RA&I.
The team will be responsible for reporting, oversight and regulatory compliance plans in relation to prudential standards 112 & 113, and the revised standards to be implemented in 2022.
Responsibilities

  • Contribute to ensuring the divisional and business operations and risk management practices align to the prudential standards for credit risk capital and is reflected in frameworks, policies, risk strategy, and appetite of the Group.
  • Support management in the pro-active consideration of the risk and control implications of key projects and change management initiatives to drive the timely and cost-effective incorporation of future controls.
  • Help support RA&I’s risk controls and policies, and provide advice or input into business risks and issues.
  • Support the business to drive a strong risk culture and awareness in day-to-day business decisions and business strategic initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice to the business and projects to ensure that new and revised policies and procedures are consistent with APS 112 and 113 prudential standards.
  • Help maintain and refine compliance plans across prudential standards above, including the revised standards which will be implemented by 2023.
  • Track and monitor activities and Issues across the bank which impact on the prudential standards above to ensure effective management of credit and prudential risks.
  • Help coordinate relevant prudential standard attestations and control self-assessments as needed.

Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in credit risk, risk management or other relevant industry experience
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant degree
  • Knowledge of APRA prudential standards.
