Role Details

Gold Fields - Agnew is currently seeking an Officer: Emergency & Security Services to join their Sustainable Development department.

Reporting to the Coordinator: Emergency Services & Security, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of company operational and commercial targets in a safe, productive & efficient manner by delivering a comprehensive emergency response service to site.

This role is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract based on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 days on, 7 days off Fly in Fly out roster from Perth (with an on call roster).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times.
  • Demonstrate and maintain a sound level of knowledge and understanding of the underground & surface mining operations, haulage mineral processing and shared use infrastructure to enable strong understanding of the risks associated with known and potential emergency response scenarios and activities at Agnew. Ensure processes are in place so that these risks are adequately assessed and effective controls are in place to reduce risk to as low as reasonably practical.
  • Assist in the delivery of a qualified emergency response service by partaking in training and real life accident/emergency situations taking direction from delegated personnel.
  • Assist in the development of external relationships and agreements for mutual aid in an emergency response situation.
  • Assist in the update and training of Emergency Crisis and Emergency Management processes on site.
  • Assist in the development for routine ERT skills training, first aid, skills maintenance training and ERT field scenario training for the Emergency Response Team.
  • Contributes to the increased capability of the workforce to achieve targets by providing a professional First Aid / Pre Hospital care service for site inclusive of business partners, with the medical assessment and appropriate minor treatment of personnel, whilst consulting with Injury Management on applicable cases.
  • Assist with the delivery of the site security function by providing support to security personnel when required.

Key factors to your success include;

  • Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance) minimum; Diploma in Health Science desirable
  • Possess a valid driver's licence
  • Competence in Closed Circuit Regenerative Breathing Apparatus, Open Circuit Breathing Apparatus, Fire Suppression, Hazmat, Rope Rescue, Vehicle Extrication
  • Certificate II in Security (Operations) or higher
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office applications
