JOB DESCRIPTION

Live and work on the iconic Northern Beaches of Sydney with our new Northern Beaches Hospital. We are seeking enthusiastic and clinically experienced nurses whom are passionate about patient care to join our professional Emergency team.

We offer state of the art equipment in world class facilities, diverse and friendly teams, as well as flexible shifts so you can achieve work/life balance.

Our Emergency Department (ED) is located on the ground floor, providing 24/7 care to residents and visitors of the Northern Beaches community. The unit comprises of 50 beds and treatment spaces, the large ground floor area is divided into zones:

  • Paediatrics

  • 24 hour Short stay

  • Adult acute assessment

  • Resuscitation

  • Mental health assessment

Your Role

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) will plan, assess, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with patients/their families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes.

  • The RN will coordinate and provide hands-on nursing care; supervision, education, direction and support for Enrolled Nurses (EN) and Assistants in Nursing (AIN).

  • Provide support and guidance to nursing peers and patients for the management of their health care, rehabilitation or end of life needs.

  • The RN will work as part of the health care team, adhere to Healthscope and NBH policies and procedures, contribute to the efficient, effective, and economic running of the ward/unit, participate in working parties or committees (as required), demonstrate a commitment to Quality Improvement through National Safety & Quality Healthcare Services (NSQHS) Standards & EQuIPNational, Workplace Health and Safety, achievement of NBH accreditation and deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.

  • The RN will maintain a professional development portfolio with a commitment to ongoing learning and development

Your Capabilities

  • Current Registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
  • Post Graduate Qualifications or relevant experience in Emergency Nursing
  • Highly developed clinical skills in relevant area
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2015 – 2019.
