About the role

The Government Relations Manager is a national role working with Federal Government and Parliamentarians and their staff to enhance the work of Australian Red Cross. Success in the role will depend on your ability to build trusted bipartisan relationships and networks in government, including with elected members, advisers and public servants. This position is accountable to the Head of Public Affairs and Advocacy and works across the organisation to ensure that we have a coordinated and strategic approach to public policy influencing and advocacy that supports our organisational objectives

 What you will bring

  • Energy, drive and extensive experience in government, politics and/or government relations
  • Strategic, proactive and able to identify opportunities to enhance Red Cross’ programs and impact
  • Extensive and up-to-date contacts in federal government
  • Demonstrated understanding of policy, politics, advocacy and campaigning Australian Red Cross
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Outstanding ability to conduct quick and accurate research
