Role Purpose

Reporting to the Director Data Engineering and Security, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and managing solutions as part of the Engineering team in the Office for Data Analytics’ and will operate in with databases, applications, networking, storage, servers and security. The role supports the data engineering function with exemplary customer service and assistance in managing data, data quality, developing and implementing automation frameworks (ie, ETL), master data, machine learning, and standard naming conventions. The role will also support acquisition of data from across government, stakeholders and the public domain.

Special Conditions

• The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
• The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
• Working within a confidential, commercially orientated and at times, politically sensitive environment.
• May be required to work within other areas of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
• Work outside normal hours will be required.
• May require interstate travel involving overnight absences.
• Will be required, at a minimum, to obtain (at DPC cost) and hold DCSI Vulnerable Persons and Child-related employment clearances, and undergo a SAPOL Criminal Associations check.
• Will be required to obtain (at DPC cost) and maintain an Australian Government Department of Defence SECRET level clearance (NV1).

Requirements

• A degree in Data Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or other similar discipline

Short Term Contract – Up to 12 months

$101,859 - $110,107 p.a.
