JOB DESCRIPTION

This position plays a key role in the Procurement Governance and Systems team and provides specific expertise for the implementation of Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) procurement policies, processes and systems to support new budget initiatives. The successful applicant will have strong stakeholder management, relationship building and communication skills; sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in government procurement processes and policies, highly developed influencing and negotiation skills and a strong 'can do' approach to identifying issues and developing appropriate solutions.

Senior Procurement Specialist (Governance), VPSG5 – (Fixed term, Full time until 30 June 2024)

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Procurement Specialist in the Governance and Systems unit within the Procurement Division in the Department of Education and Training.

The Senior Procurement Specialist (Governance) works within the Systems and Governance Unit of the Corporate Procurement Branch and provides specific expertise for the implementation of Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) procurement policies and systems, particularly in support of new budget initiatives.

 Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Leading the implementation of procurement policies across the Department with particular reference to the Victorian Social Procurement Framework and Local Jobs First Policy.
  • Serving as a Procurement system administrator for all Procurement systems to maintain the systems effectively in line with any policy and ensure the rollout and adoption of new system functionality as part of continous improvement across the Procurement Division and the wider Department.

The successful candidate will have strong stakeholder management, relationship building and communication skills; sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in government procurement processes and policies, highly developed influencing and negotiation skills and a strong ‘can do' approach to identifying issues and developing appropriate solutions.
