Perpetual are seeking a motivated and experienced Governance and Oversight Manager to join our growing team.

The role of Governance and Oversight Manager is focused on the providing support to the Governance and Oversight business to deliver an effective and best in class Outsourcing Framework which manages the businesses risk exposures.

What will you be doing?

  • Complete upfront operational due diligence on proposed new service providers to be appointed investment management, fund administration, custody or prime brokerage roles.
  • Operate the Service Provider Monitoring Review Program to identify the RE's/Trustee’s risk exposures and assess whether the service provider is within Perpetual's Risk Appetite.
  • Assessing the Service Provider's strategies and controls to manage the risk exposure identified through the reviews.
  • Produce benchmarking analysis and reports across service providers.
  • Adding value to our clients and service providers through providing meaningful analysis and insights to them on their own frameworks and industry through benchmarking analysis.
  • Completion of enhanced testing projects across key risk areas to assess any risks or improvements to service provider systems, processes and controls.
  • Design and enhance our outsourced monitoring measures to ensure Perpetual’s framework remains effective and best in class.
  • Reporting to Management, the Compliance Committee and the Board on the risks identified through the Service Provider monitoring measures and actions being taken by the service provider or RE/Trustee to manage those risks

What you will need to succeed:

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills and experience could include:

  • Degree qualified in commerce, law, economics, accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Services, with exposure to managed funds
  • Have a good understanding of the service providers operations for managed investment schemes and the legal, regulatory and compliance and risk frameworks in place that govern managed investment schemes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Lead the delivery of programs allocated.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Effectively build and maintain trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a drive for technical knowledge. Demonstrate a passion and pride in delivering successful outcomes for Perpetual and our Clients.
  • Ability to coach and support others -members of team and wider firm. Ability to project a positive and professional representation of the firm at all times.
