As a Governance, Risk and Controls Manager / Senior Manager who specialises in Financial Services, your impact will be seen by:

  • Partnering with our financial services clients on their large transformation programs to mitigate regulatory and compliance risks they face;
  • Developing risk management strategies for our financial services clients to drive compliance and strengthen their existing processes and controls;
  • Leading the engagement management and managing the end to end execution of our key financial services internal audit engagements;
  • Identifying priority areas of risk and process improvement by understanding our client’s strategy, objectives, risks, control frameworks, systems and regulatory environments;
  • Helping our financial services clients navigate an evolving risk and regulatory landscape by developing and executing test plans, identifying control effectiveness and improvements and reporting these to clients in an impactful way.

About you

You will have 6+ years of experience working with major financial institutions (preferably banking), with experience working on large scale transformation programs where you have delivered improvements to the financial institution’s risk, regulatory and compliance outcomes in a fast-paced environment. You may also have experience leading internal audit engagements and are comfortable managing the relationship at the account level. You have gained this experience while working at a Big 4 consulting firm, boutique or as part of a financial services institution.

Adaptability is your strength, and you can simultaneously deliver outstanding client outcomes on both your large-scale transformation work while overseeing your recurring engagements.

You have a strong understanding of the financial services regulatory environment and have a proven ability to advise organisations on strengthening their compliance with regulatory obligations and controls environment to mitigate key risks faced. Through the execution of your work, you deliver compelling insights into your client’s control environment and provide practical tactical and strategic solutions.

You will have good communication, presentation, project management and time-management skills. You will have the ability to handle project delivery in a fast-paced environment. You have both enthusiasm and drive to play a key role in our team, helping shape and develop its future. You are also adept at managing the financial aspect of engagement delivery, and have experience developing fee estimates and flagging budget variances early.
