How will I help?

This fantastic opportunity to lead Westpacs Breach Reporting and Whistleblower Governance functions leading a team of highly talented individuals will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, Enterprise Compliance. You will lead the ownership of the Regulatory Disclosure Policy and the Speaking Up policy and underlying processes & procedures. You and your team will champion Speaking Up across the group. Furthermore, you will provide insights and oversight across the incident management framework and whistleblower investigations.

You will play a leading role in supporting Group Investigations, and provide governance across whistleblower investigations, including Quality Assurance along with providing support to 2nd line Divisional Compliance teams, including providing compliance advisory support for managing and escalating compliance incidents. You will take ownership in the planning and execution of communication, training & awareness initiatives to ensure key roles are adequately trained.

Given you form a key member of the Enterprise Compliance Leadership Team, you will support the CCO, EC in raising professional standards across Compliance and be responsible for building and managing a team capable of building effective relationships across a number of different functions and levels.

What do I need?

A strong candidate will bring have strong experience coming from a Legal and Regulatory background and have had experience in a Legal, Compliance or Regulatory related function. You will have strong technical compliance knowledge coupled with commercial acumen and proven experience in driving and delivering projects of a compliance nature.

You will display leadership traits in order to lead, train and develop junior staff. You will hold stakeholder management skills and highly proficient with both your verbal and written communication. You will be asked to challenge and hold your own amongst some key people across the organisation and provide your thought leadership on several matters.
