Emergency Medicine Registrars

We currently have vacancies within our Emergency Medicine team for Registrars. The ED Registrar will be responsible for the initial assessment and management of patients attending the Emergency Department, while assisting the Consultant with floor management. These accredited positions have contract options of either 12 months in ED or 9 months in ED and 3 months in Anaesthetics, depending upon candidate preference. Candidates will be required to be enrolled in or eligible to enter the ACEM trainee program.

Our Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and comprises of 16 cubicles including 2 resus bays. Our junior medical staff (interns, HMOs and registrars) are required to participate in a 24 hour/7 days a week rotating roster and enjoy the support of rostered Consultants and Interns between 07:30-22:30. We staff a Medical Registrar 24/7 and have on call support from a range of Specialists, including Physicians, Paediatricians, O&G Consultants, Surgeons and Anaesthetists. Our hospital site is located approximately 1.5 hours east of Melbourne and is an easy drive down the Monash Freeway.

Our Registrars will have access to a wide range of learning opportunities in a supportive environment – our Consultant roster is staffed by FACEMs and highly experienced senior medical officers who are keen to teach. As we are a smaller service, you will obtain exposure to a wide range of cases that may be handled by sub-speciality departments in larger metropolitan hospitals and enjoy a friendly team environment where you can really get to know your co-workers.

The Emergency Department is run by a dedicated, proactive Nursing team and offers an enjoyable working environment – we pride ourselves upon having a professional and consultative team based approach to patient care.
