Account Director (Industry Specialist - State Government) - Sydney

We are looking for a talented and driven Account Director recognised for their strong expertise in subject matter issues within the State Government (SG) sector. In this role you are responsible for expanding Genesys’ market-leading position in Customer Experience (CX) solutions, across Digital, AI and Cloud-based technologies. In this role you will help organisations transform customer and employee engagement through specific industry applications delivered by Genesys and its partner eco-system.

You will provide insight and guidance in relation to strategic planning, conceptual development and business case development in order to create value for our clients, whilst driving commercial outcomes for Genesys in the form of new customer growth and sales revenue targets.

You will identify key decision-makers and influencers with target prospects and execute sales strategy by collaborating within the State Government sector, as well as cross-functional teams such as client services, product management, operations, technology, and legal to optimize engagements within clients.

What You Can Bring To Genesys

  • Establishing and building strong peer relationships within the SG sector, including customers, consultants, alliances, and partners.
  • Work under a POD based team structure within Genesys with strong collaboration skills
  • Driving and achieving sales performance, with emphasis around Cloud CX solutions that incorporates both contact centre, digital transformation and Professional Services.
  • Consistently achieve Genesys targets (Plan) and KPI’s across all performance measurements
  • Effectively lead and guide aligned teams to identify specific solution opportunities, through solution definition and design, to propose and close.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong qualified pipeline of incremental opportunities in relation to Cloud CX and professional services to exceed sales objectives
  • Driving aligned cross-functional teams (PODs) to develop and implement effective sales plans and strategies to meet customer needs

You’ve been there and done this…
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing and/or IT preferred but not essential
  • Any SG or Industry-specific memberships
  • 5+ years’ experience and proven track record in selling into the Public Sector
  • Experience selling complex cloud or SaaS-based solutions
  • Exposure to managing multiple stakeholders through a complex sales process
  • Experience in selling and developing customer solutions and business cases in the areas of Customer Experience and/or Digital transformation
  • Sound knowledge of the State Government
  • Sound knowledge of the cloud and SaaS business models
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota and key performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to continually source and follow-up new business and implement effective referral mechanisms
  • Demonstrated capacity to consistently deliver a high level of service to all customers and maintain customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive relations with cross-functional team members in the POD
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to upskill in product knowledge, preferably in relation to CX and digital technologies

  • Minimum intermediate level experience in the Microsoft Office Suite, internet and email systems Work Context
