About Our Client
Our client a world leader in design and development acoustic systems with applications in wide variety of industries. They are currently seeking a Project Manager to join their growing business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Programs your responsibilities include
- Generation and day-to-day management of approved project plans, schedules, work packages, budgets and other specified project management documentation.
- Reporting project status (including expenditure against budget, progress against baseline schedule and the management of project issues and risks) in accordance with both external customer requirements and internal Company processes.
- The meeting of all Project milestones and events including delivery and customer acceptance of all Project Deliverables (documentation, hardware, software, services etc).
- Foster a dynamic, cohesive and efficient project team.
- Act as a Customer liaison and appropriately manage expectations in relation to Project progress and performance against contracted requirements.
- Work closely with the Project Engineer and maintaining a sound understanding of the technical solution being delivered by the Project.
- Prepare or assist with the generation of quotations, offers and bids.
- Support the Head of Programs in the design and establishment of project management processes including Planning, Controlling, Risk Management, Reporting, and Cost Accounting.
- Supervise and mentor specified staff, including the conduct of Performance Reviews.
Skills Required
- An Engineering degree in an appropriate discipline and at least 5 years’ experience in a relevant engineering role.
- 5+ years Project Management experience, of which 2+ years is in a product development capacity.
- Project Management Certification, or equivalent training
- Sound working knowledge of Product Development Lifecycle with respect to hardware and software development.
- Proven track record in managing successful delivery of product development projects.
- Experience working in a QA-accredited work environment
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strive to perform in a small, fast paced and flexible team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion with minimal supervision or direction.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Background in sonar, radar, avionics or similar industry is advantageous.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
- Prepared to travel nationally and internationally as necessary to support business activities.
