The South Australian Employment Tribunal (SAET) is established under the South

Australian Employment Tribunal Act 2014 to deal with employment related matters.

SAET is South Australia’s forum for resolving workplace-related disputes and issues including:

  • work related injury disputes (Return to Work)
  • employment and industrial disputes
  • work, health and safety-related prosecutions
  • industrial awards, agreements and registers

Judicial Support Officer

The primary purpose of the Judicial Support Officer is the provision of high level administrative support for the Presidential Members of SAET. The Judicial Support Officer will assist in the efficient management of matters from application to hearing and determination. This includes case management, chambers and court support, administrative support, and managing interactions with Tribunal users including parties and representatives. The Judicial Support Officer will contribute to business process improvement and embrace safe work practices and diversity in the workplace. One of the key challenges is dealing with all information on a Member’s behalf in a transparent manner to avoid any perception of bias, whilst protecting the integrity of the Tribunal.

Essential Experience And Skills Include
  • experience providing clerical and administrative services, including the ability to type 50 w.p.m. with 98% accuracy, preferably in a legal, court or tribunal environment
  • familiarity with courts and tribunals and the ability to develop and apply knowledge of SAET legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines
  • excellence in customer service
  • experience in the use of a range of computer programs
  • ability and experience


ASO4 - $72,135 - $75,616 p.a. (adjusted to actual hours worked).

Special Conditions

Suitable applicants will be registered in the pool for a period of 12 months. Recommended applicants will be eligible for upcoming temporary/term opportunities and may be contacted as they arise.

Short term contract up to 12 months.

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance.

The successful candidate may be required to act in other roles within the Tribunal to cover the absence of fellow staff members and some out of hours work may be required.
