About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Asset Management and Reliability, the purpose of the role is to manage and provide technical leadership for asset management. Offered as a permanent opportunity, you will be responsible for ensuring IMC assets are safe, reliable and optimized as per the South32 Asset Management Standards.

Other accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coaching and mentoring the reliability team to ensure delivery against performance targets
  • Delivering service to mine sites in accordance with the Asset Management and Reliability Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Ensuring unified application of Asset Management and Reliability processes and practices across IMC
  • Supporting the maintenance and auditing of the IMC asset management system and processes in compliance with the South32 Asset Management Standard by providing technical expertise to site production
  • Executing strategic asset management plan actions

This position will be based at Appin Operations which are in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney, with occasional travel to our Wollongong office, located at the University of Wollongong's Innovation Campus.

About you

You will hold a Bachelor/Diploma or Certificate of Engineering - Mechanical/Electrical/Drafting or equivalent, with significant experience working in mining operations (including underground coal). Experience in asset management within the resource industry is highly desirable; along with advanced Excel, Visual Basic and/or Matlab skills. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders across multiple levels, which is crucial to the success of this role.
