As a reflection of our continued growth in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Salesforce is hiring a high-performing, result-oriented Counsel to join our ANZ Commercial Legal team, supporting the ANZ Public Sector sales team. The ANZ Commercial Legal team delivers innovative, trusted and world-class legal services to advance and protect Salesforce's interests while creating a fulfilling work environment for our legal family. This Counsel will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel for Public Sector in the ANZ Commercial Legal team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review, negotiate and draft agreements, such as master subscription agreements, professional services agreements, ANZ State and Federal Government agreements, data processing addenda, alliances agreements, non-disclosure agreements and order forms in support of the ANZ sales, professional services and alliances teams.
  • Work with the sales and professional services, revenue recognition, sales operations and pricing internal teams to support processes for contracting and order processing.
  • Closely partner with the other departments, including privacy, security and compliance to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes.
  • Provide legal and commercial support in relation to existing contracts and provide support in the event of any disputes or potential disputes.
  • Assist the company in maintaining and securing compliance with Australian/New Zealand laws and regulations.
  • Assist in developing training materials and provide training to the business on relevant legal topics and best practices.
  • Actively contribute to the ANZ Commercial Legal team's ongoing development of knowledge, skills and processes.
  • Participate in cross-regional team projects.
  • Look after yourself, your colleagues and the company's interest.
  • Undergraduate LLB or post-graduate JD from a highly regarded university and valid practising certificate in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • 4-6 years PQE combined experience at a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Outstanding legal drafting skills; rigor/attention to detail; and strong legal reasoning.
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritise and manage deadlines, in a fast pace, rapidly evolving and demanding industry and work environment.
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude. Ability to handle pressure and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • Team oriented and collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients.
  • Familiar with and interested in technical concepts (Web applications/cloud computing/digital transformation/Artificial Intelligence).
  • Can-do attitude, pro-active, autonomous, resilient, adaptable, eager to continually learn and develop professionally.
Highly Desirable Experience & Skills
  • Demonstrated and substantive IT contract negotiation and drafting expertise.
  • Experience in supporting sales departments as an internal client.
  • Understanding of and experience in ANZ Federal government and State government contracting.
  • Knowledge of, and interest in, Australian and global data privacy law.
