JOB DESCRIPTION

The Legislative Assembly is looking for a Parliamentary Officer to work for a fixed term in the Papers Section of the Procedure Office. The position involves a variety of tasks including customer service, administration and some research/project work.

About the role

We are offering an exciting fixed-term opportunity as Parliamentary Officer (Papers Section) in the Procedure Office until 1 October 2021. The Procedure Office provides support to the Chamber and senior officers within the Department and is the principal office responsible for answering inquiries from the Department's customers. Your key responsibilities will be supervising the Papers Section on a day-to-day basis and responding to queries and requests from members and the public. You will also process questions on notice and documents for tabling, process accounts for payment and undertake small procedural research tasks and projects.

To succeed in the role, you will have experience supervising and directing staff in a small team, and superior organisational and time management skills. You will be a team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Your analytical, research and writing skills will be a strength, with excellent attention to detail.
