How will I help?

The purpose of the role is to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of an effective and fit for purpose Group-wide risk committee structure which supports our risk management framework and compliance with APRA Prudential Standard CPS 220 – Risk Management.

You will provide prudential and risk governance advice to support effective risk management whilst developing and maintaining strong governance standards and practices for risk committees.

The role will give you the opportunity to drive excellence in risk governance practices and uplift governance standards. You will collaborate with risk class owners and the Risk Governance team, review the approval governance and reporting structures supporting compliance with prudential standards and implement enhancements where appropriate.

You’ll be expected to provide appropriate advice on Westpac’s prudential and risk governance obligations, standards and practices and engage with senior stakeholders on proposals to enhance the Group’s risk governance practices and structures.

What do I need?

The successful candidate will bring relevant experience in Risk, Legal and Compliance related fields and be comfortable in managing a wide variety of stakeholders across multiple levels.

You will need to have a strong understanding of Governance processes and have exposure to Prudential Standards and Risk Frameworks.

Due to the breadth of the role superior communication skills both verbal and written will be essential.
