An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly qualified Emergency Nurse. This exciting new position will support the Nurse Unit Manager – Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department, to manage the Nursing Workforce portfolio of the department. This includes, rostering, leave management, mandatory competency compliance, professional development and staff support. The role in non-clinical, although some rostered on-floor shifts will be required.

The Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department, is undergoing expansion works to double its points of care. The addition of this role to the Nursing leadership profile will support the delivery of Best Care, through the provision of leadership and expertise in workforce management. The successful individual will have experience in rostering, leave management, and the implementation of systems that support compliance with the mandatory workforce management requirements of the organisation.

Population and planning forecasts predict that the Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department will manage in excess of 100,000 presentations by 2025. This rapid growth in demand and the associated investment in infrastructure makes Western Health’s emergency medicine program the fastest growing in the state. With a strong leadership team already in place this position provides the successful applicant with a unique opportunity to further advance their Nursing management career.

To be Successful in this Role you possess

  • Extensive recent management experience at minimum of ANUM level for at least 3 years

  • Understands the key principles of financial and workforce management with necessary ability to navigate the required systems and documentation

  • A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
