About the Role:

A strategic leadership opportunity exists within the Finance Team at CFA. With significant program and project management responsibility, the role requires extensive experience regarding financial governance in a public sector context.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation for and execution of EOFY financial governance and compliance matters, including Standing Directions Attestations, Tax Returns, purchasing card administration etc
  • Review of relevant financial policy and procedures
  • Identification and the management of financial risk
  • Monitoring completion of external audit action points
  • The effective operation of the Shared Services function (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, etc) including business continuity
  • The effective operation of the financial systems administration and support function including business continuity planning and implementing a business services function

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or significant program/project management skills/experience mandatory
  • Experience in delivering significant programs in a complex environment with the ability to influence and build organisational and team capability in this field
  • Ability to prepare and present exceptional, professional, concise and insightful project management reporting and briefing materials for senior management
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to successfully develop relationships, manage and influence stakeholder, engaging with both internal and external parties at all levels of an organisation
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to manage complex issues and projects to develop innovative solutions and provide authoritative advice on complex organizational problems
  • High level understanding and experience in risk management with the ability to identify and manage a broad range of risks and business dependencies with strong skills in negotiation, influencing, networking, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Political acumen and a mature understanding of, and commitment to, the complexities and protocols of Government and Industrial Relations processes with the ability to provide influential recommendations to CFA senior management
