JOB DESCRIPTION

Your new company This Department deliver policy that protects and supports the wider community. They are seeking an APS4 Governance Officer to report to the EL1 Director to join a fast paced and high performing team with an engagement and coordination focus.

Your new role
As a successful candidate you will join the Science Facilitation Team with experience in providing governance and secretariat support to statutory committees.

Duties include:

  • Assist in providing efficient and effective secretariat services to the branch’s statutory committees, including meeting coordination and committee governance arrangements.
  • Manage the secretariat mailboxes, GovTEAMS sites and maintenance of records management system.
  • Assist with periodic reviews of governance protocols and procedures and facilitate updates where required.
  • Assist with a range of coordination tasks including coordinating Senate Estimates Briefs, Question Time Briefs, Questions on Notice, Ministerial Correspondence. Maintain the branch’s briefing tracking sheet.
  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Director with wider section and branch tasks as required

What you'll need to succeed
This position will see you contribute at a high-level in detailed communication and liaison with a range of executives and representatives. Additionally, this role will coordinate logistics involving the scheduling of meetings and preparation of agendas. The successful candidate will be able to draw upon their skills in secretariat functions, ability to synthesise information and governance. This position would suit someone who enjoys working within a collaborative environment and who has the ability to work under pressure. Coordinating parliamentary activities and proficiency with PDMS would be advantageous.

As this role is with a Federal Department only Australian Citizens can be considered.
