What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse Unit Manager provides clinical leadership and management of staff, clinical services and resources and facilitate the patient Journey through the Emergency Department (ED) to ensure that it is as efficient and timely as possible. The role also aims to support the multidisciplinary team deliver high quality and safe patient centred care in the department.

*12 hour flexible shift roster pattern is available with this position*

Essential Criteria:

Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria:

Must hold or be working towards a post-registration qualification in emergency/critical care or nursing management, or have a minimum 5 years post registration experience in Emergency Medicine.

Demonstrated understanding of the different Emergency Department's models of care and an understanding of the Emergency Key Performance Indicators including Emergency Treatment Performance (ETP).

Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem-solving, formulating new approaches and implementing strategies, including the ability to develop and monitor outcomes.

Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with other healthcare workers, clients and carers.

Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative.

Demonstrated understanding of managing nursing and resource allocations to deliver effective and efficient care.

Understanding of the management of patient complaints and patient privacy.
