Emergency Planning Consultant/Trainer

Planning and managing emergency response in facilities is becoming an important part of managing facilities in Australia. From fire to external threats, facilities are required to not only have an emergency management plan in place but they must communicate plans to all occupants with practice drills to comply with standards and compliance obligations.

Over the past 20 years, Statcom has established itself as a quality provider fire and emergency management consulting and training services to a diverse range of building and facility owners and managers.

With our head office based in Nunawading VIC, Statcom is currently seeking a consultant/trainer to join our dedicated and growing team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Emergency Planning Manager, and taking direction from our Senior Consultant, you will join a highly motivated, dynamic, professional team, whose focus is to meet and exceed our client’s expectations for Emergency Management.

Core Duties

  • Deliver specialist non-accredited workplace Emergency Response Training to all industries.
  • Provide advice to clients in Emergency Planning for the workplace.
  • Liaise with clients and gather information to prepare Emergency Response Plans & Procedures.
  • Audit and install Evacuation Diagrams for facilities.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in either Emergency Management or Emergency Response role.
  • Familiar with AS 3745-2010 Planning for Emergencies in Facilities, AS 4083-2010 Planning for Emergencies in Health Care Facilities and relevant OHS/WHS Act and Legislations.

Experience in the use of CAD to produce or amend evacuation diagrams would be highly regarded.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be organised, self-motivated and customer service focused.
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE) is desired, but not essential.
  • Previous experience delivering Emergency Response Training for the workplace will be highly regarded, but are not essential.
  • This role will suit those who enjoy working in an autonomous environment and are highly organised and passionate about training.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of highly practical, client focused emergency management training and exercises to our key clients

The successful applicant, must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable motor vehicle, ability to obtain working with children’s and police checks, while also be available for occasional interstate and rural Victoria travel.

A competitive salary package, based on previous industry experience, along with a motor vehicle allowance, will be offered to the successful candidate. Other items such as laptop, mobile phone uniform and other required items for the role will also be supplied.
