Are you an experienced Governance Lead in the public sector? We are recruiting for a temporary casual opportunity to work as a Randstad contractor for one of our South Australia Government clients. This role will be based in our client’s inner northern suburbs office.

Role Summary

The Principal Governance and Asssurance Lead is responsible for providing risk and governance leadership to the Governance and Assurance team through the delivery and management of the department's risk and assurance functions, frameworks and programs in order to achieve key outcomes in line with the department's Strategic Plan. The position contributes to the development of policies and delivers high level expertise, providing expert advice and recommendations to a range of internal and external clients.

The position is responsible for the successful delivery of:

  • Internal Audit functions and tasks.
  • External Audit of third-party service providers.
  • Legislative Assurance (departmental delegations and legislative compliance program).
  • Enterprise Risk Management through the roll out of the risk framework and associated programs, tools and systems.

Key responsibility areas of his role:

The Principal Governance and Assurance Lead is required to undertake a wide range of activities including all or
any of the following:

• Leading the development and delivery of the annual audit internal and external plan, Legislative Assurance program and related, projects, systems and services affecting key and core elements of the agency’s mission or operations.

• Leading the development and implementation of the department’s risk framework, policies, procedures, tools and templates to achieve continuous improvement in core aspects of risk management.

• Leading the development of staff technical capabilities within audit, compliance and enterprise risk management.

• Managing assigned staff including conducting individual performance management and professional development meetings and documented plans.

• Provide contemporary advice on strategic risk and governance issues including risk processes, policies, legislation, regulations and the Codes of Practice.

• Leading a culture of risk management throughout the department which enable mitigation of risk in future opportunities.

• Developing productive relationships across the department and Government with key stakeholders to deliver benefits and inspire confidence in the role of risk management and governance.

• Resolving issues with innovative solutions that are consistent with the department's objectives and national and international developments.

• Formulating ideas and concepts in consultation with key stakeholders to achieve the adoption of specific procedures, methods and strategies in support of robust risk management.

• Contributing to a safe, diverse and healthy work environment free from discrimination and harassment by working in accordance with legislative requirements, the Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public Sector, equal employment opportunity and departmental human resource policies, including Work Health Safety and Wellbeing requirements.

Benefits

The role will pay a commensurate government salary paid at a range from $101,859 to $110,107 + 9.5% Super
