The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is the most senior and expert clinical nurse within their area of practice in the Hospital and Health Service. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for practising in accordance with the Nurses and Midwifery Board Australia nurse practitioner registration standards and the scope of clinical practice for the area.

  • Provide leadership in a multidisciplinary environment which supports the achievement of performance indicators and system and quality improvement initiatives and change management.

  • Support a learning environment by providing clinical education and expertise, conducting and guiding research and supporting the development of colleagues. This includes acting as a supervision role model/ mentor for nurse practitioner candidates

  • Provide professional/nursing leadership in developing a positive culture and quality focus

  • Lead and collaborate in the development and evaluation of clinical protocols, standards, policies and procedures

Remuneration value up to $12,975 p.m., comprising salary between $5101 - $5230 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $58.55 - $63.56 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 8) (temporary full or part time position available for up to 12 months, hours negotiable).
