The opportunity:

In this role as a Risk Management Analyst in AIA’s 2nd line Enterprise Risk and Compliance Team, you will be a key contributor to the delivery of analysis to provide insights that enhance the operational risk management across the business. This role is an exciting entry level opportunity for a candidate with strong business knowledge and/or exposure to risk frameworks looking to develop their skills. Applications from Sydney and Melbourne are being considered.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Conduct analysis to evaluate and enhance management of key data and users on the Operational Risk system

  • Contribute to the creation, delivery and interpretation of key operational risk insights and supports team in preparation of risk reports to management

  • Conduct analysis of incident root causes to identify patterns and trends across the organisation to detect systemic issues

  • Provide secretariat duties for Governance Risk Committee and supports secretaries for Financial Risk Committee and the Enterprise Risk Management Committee

  • Pro-actively support the Enterprise Risk business partners to provide specialist support into the business where required

  • Work with the broader Enterprise Risk & Compliance team to support the business to embed an effective risk culture

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Practical and demonstrated experience within the Australian Financial Services Industry

  • Practical experience with operational risk management frameworks, especially in respect to Governance, Reporting and Risk Management systems within the Australian Financial Services Industry (preferred)

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and engagement skills with the ability to influence stakeholders

  • Critical thinking, analytic and innovative mindset

  • Understanding of the regulatory environment as well as key legislation impacting on business activities in financial services sector
