JOB DESCRIPTION

12 month assignment for a governance professional to support the Office of the Trustee of this major bank.

Your new company
This organisation is one of Australia's most recognised banks. It is looking to bring on board an experienced governance professional to join its team on a temporary assignment for a period of approximately 12 months to provide support to the Office of the Super Trustee and ensure that the responsibilities of the Trustee directors are met.

Your new role
As a Senior Consultant in a small team, you will be required to support the Head of Trustee Governance and Company Secretary in meeting Trustee governance requirements. This will include:

  • Assisting and supporting the implementation of the Trustee Governance Framework and proactively drive improvements and efficiencies;
  • Developing and maintaining governance protocols, processes and tools to ensure the effective operation of the governance framework;
  • Maintaining the Knowledge Management database, being the key contact for the team to ensure compliance with prudential standards and internal requirements;
  • Maintaining a database for all Trustee Policies and ensure polices are reviewed and up to date;
  • Lead and deliver to all required governance and regulatory obligations, such as APRA reporting, Responsible Persons requirements and website disclosures;

  • Assisting the Trustee in delivering strategic advice, guidance and direction to management, advocating members best interest;
  • Leading project related tasks, along with other adhoc deliverables, as requested;
  • Performing adhoc duties as required which will include relief support to the Board Coordinator and Committee Secretaries when required.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have strong knowledge of governance principles with at least 5 years of relevant working experience in a governance or company secretarial role. Previous experience within superannuation or within the financial services sector more generally would be highly regarded. Working in a fast paced environment, you will be a proactive individual who is capable of multitasking and prioritising work effectively. You will be required to liaise with senior stakeholders and directors on a regular basis and so strong communication and relationship management skills are essential in addition to a team oriented approach.

What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to be part of an evolving organisation and a fast paced working environment where you will regularly liaise with senior stakeholders and provide a high level of input on general corporate governance matters. While you will be expected to work with a degree of autonomy, you will also be part of a supportive and collegiate team.
