We are committed to our vision of 'better health services for the people of western Sydney and beyond' and to the delivery of health care or related services in line with our core values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment.

What you'll be doing

The Department of Gynaecological Oncology is a centralised specialist service within the division of Women’s and Newborn Care. It manages the most complex cases with a strong multidisciplinary team planning approach. It is one of 6 designated gynaecological oncology cancer services in the state. The service is avowedly patient centric; with Research and Clinical trials forming one of the guiding principles of the department.

The Gynaecological Oncology Clinical Trials Team is a small unit working within this diverse and dynamic department. The unit conducts clinical drug trials and investigator initiated research in the context of surgical procedure research and drug therapy treatments for gynaecological cancers. These studies provide patients with access to therapies which may improve quality of life or are potentially lifesaving or life extending.

This role will provide safe and effective patient-centred nursing care to the patients within the unit. It will be responsible for running a portfolio of clinical trials and assisting the trials team in the conduct of clinical research. This includes checking patient eligibility, patient education, ensuring adherence to protocol and Good Clinical Practice and collection of research samples.

People with disabilities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply; and where required, WSLHD will implement reasonable adjustment consistent with industry standard.
