About the Role

We’re expanding our governance team and are now on the hunt for an experienced governance professional who will lead the implementation of the inflight Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) project. This includes the implementation of the FAR framework, operationalising deferred remunerations, managing FAR policies and documents and any administrative activities associated with FAR. If successful, you’ll be responsible for supporting Youi, its Board of Directors, senior executives, and accountable persons in meeting the expectations of FAR in accordance with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).

Once the project is delivered, you will have an ongoing role in managing Youi’s obligations to FAR and will be a trusted adviser to Youi’s executives and directors.

At a high-level, your key activities will include:

  • Implementation of FAR / Project Management

  • Leveraging the Risk, Legal & Compliance (RLC) system to ensure that it is fit for purpose to support FAR and optimised for reporting and user experience

  • Liaise and build strong partnerships with key contributing functions e.g. HR, RLC

  • Build FAR considerations into Youi’s ‘make a change’ processes to ensure reasonable steps and accountability statements are considered with each business change

  • Design, implement and monitor reasonable steps for all accountable persons to ensure accountable persons are aware of their compliance with their statements

  • Monitor potential changes to accountable persons and their roles

  • Design, review, update and communicate FAR policies, procedures and documents

  • Build awareness of accountability at Youi by positively promoting an accountability culture.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you tick most of these boxes:

  • Management, project or specialist experience in a risk, compliance or governance related role

  • Previous exposure to establishing the BEAR or FAR

  • You’ve led complex process improvement programs and change management practices

  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations and risk and compliance frameworks (ideally within financial services/insurance)

  • You’re a confident SME, able to influence and communicate to achieve solid business outcomes

  • A curious and analytical soul, with an eagle eye for detail

  • You love a well-written report or document and pride yourself on your ability to present ideas, opportunities or issues to senior management and Boards that are outcome-focused

  • You’re highly organised, love to roll up your sleeves and navigate complex projects and competing deadlines, always with the end goal in mind

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, or a related discipline
