The Role

The Data and System Governance Manager will design and drive the implementation of Banking & Wealth governance requirements and delivery approach for system and data governance to ensure compliance. This role is a subject matter expert to embed data governance as per the requirements of the Group Data Governance Framework and to provide and data and system governance support to Banking teams to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the data owners and provide specialist advice to the business to ensure the design of rules and requirements for the treatment of their data are compliant with all policies and frameworks
  • Drive the maturity program to uplift understanding of Data Risk and support the business in closing compliance gaps where identified
  • Monitor and manage application and platform reviews including escalation points of non-compliance with respective Strategic Leaders
  • Act as the conduit between Technology and Transformation and Banking teams for data and system governance requirements
  • Deliver and present reports to management and executive committees on data and system governance programs of work
  • Identify automated solutions where possible to reduce cost to Banking teams and ensure an improved customer experience
  • Complete ad hoc work as required to support the delivery of Bank strategic objectives

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in related field
  • Extensive experience in banking or financial services with a strong focus on Data, Systems, Reporting, Risk, Compliance and/or Governance
  • Advanced understanding of Suncorp Policies, Frameworks and Standards
  • Intermediate understanding of regulation and legislation related to an ADI and RSE
  • Superior stakeholder skills including coordination of key programs of work or projects and facilitation of change management across multiple lines of business
