About The Role

In support of the Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) Asset Class Prime Contractor (ACPC) Program, the Commercial and Governance Analyst is the key interface between the program and contract teams in the delivery and governance of tasks within the SEA 2048 Phase 6 (LHD Capability Assurance Program (CAP)) project.

The Commercial and Governance Analyst will work with the contract and program team stakeholders to develop an end-to-end delivery methodology and governance processes (establishing guidelines, standards, controls and systems) with optimised tools, ensuring they are industry-leading and fit for purpose. They will also be responsible for implementing the project delivery methodology and governance processes to support the effective delivery of the SEA2048 Phase 6 project.

  • Develop and document a process for Survey & Quote (S&Q) tasking budget with the CoA
  • Develop tender process, guides, and templates for subcontractors to use
  • Develop and control a Project Register to track end-to-end status of S&Q tasking budget and the status of deliverables and milestones for Engineering Change
  • Engaging with the subcontractors throughout the ten
  • Develop and produce regular financial/commercial reporting based on the Commercial Register for relevant internal and external (CoA and subcontractors) stakeholders
  • Develop and control a Deliverable Database which compiles all past project tasks and deliverables to enable the analysis of historical deliverables to predict the scope, cost and schedule of future deliverables


About you
  • Qualifications or certifications in contract and/or project management
  • Previous commercial/financial and project control experience
  • Expert in process improvement methodologies and strategic planning techniques
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Visio
  • Ability to communicate clearly and liaise effectively at all levels (both internally & externally) ensuring communication is clear, concise, timely and relevant to the audience
  • Ability to employ a range of influencing and negotiation strategies in a confident and persuasive manner to negotiate the best win-win outcomes for NSM and our stakeholders (CoA and subcontractors)
  • Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
  • MUST be an Australian Citizen

  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Experience with workflow management in SharePoint and CoA’s Objective tool
  • Previous experience with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and/or the Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG)
  • Proven record of management and compliance within an engineering governance structure

Essential Compliance Requirements
  • No restrictions to access FOUO level or ITAR controlled material.
