The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist, Superannuation Strategy & Governance to join IAG's Finance Tax team on a permanent basis. In this role you will provide recommendations on the strategic direction of the Superfund and manage the governance requirements, including the provision of reports for stakeholder groups, overseeing the vendor's delivery against the Superannuation Fund services agreement and compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible to support the broader team as required across financial accounting and tax pieces of work.

The successful candidate will be highly organised with a keen attention for detail. As the key relationship contact between IAG and the fund you will have excellent stakeholder engagement showcasing your proven experience in liaising with all levels of stakeholders. In close collaboration with the tax team you will also assist with tax and financial accounting and preparation and finalising of briefings, papers and registers for the board.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage the governance requirements of the Superannuation Fund, including overseeing the vendor's delivery against the service agreement
* Analyse data supplied by the vendor and produce management reports with insights, trends, vendor SLA information and any identified risks
* Provide recommendations on the strategic direction of the Superannuation Fund, the investment strategy, employer contribution rates and Choice of Plan Actuary
* Monitor funding position & notifiable events, including recommending and implementing appropriate actions which considers actuarial advice
* Provide recommendations on defined benefit arrangements, including funding requirements, or amendments to the Plan in liaison with the Plan Actuary
* Provide recommendations in relation to pensioner annual CPI increases
* Arrange triennial statutory valuations (annual for any sub-funds pensioners)
* Arrange for actuarial reports and certificates (ie: AASB1056, Funding and Solvency Certificate, Benefit Certificate) for all sub-funds
* Provide superannuation advice and recommendations in relation to current and potential adjacency businesses and engaging with external providers for specialist M&A advice if required
* Identify the company default superannuation fund, in partnership with P&C, and provide a recommendation for approval (when requested)
* In consultation with the vendor, schedule and attend Superannuation Policy Committee Meetings (multiple times per annum) and manage Policy Committee elections (every 3 years). Also, meet with the vendor outside Policy Committee cycle regarding recent plan updates, industry developments or legislative changes.
* Manage the member education strategy in partnership with the vendor and P&C
* Develop IAG internal communication materials and policies relating to superannuation in consultation with P&C and the vendor, ensuring information is relevant and includes any regulatory changes or policy updates
* Act as the relationship contact between IAG and the vendor and maintain regular connection with key stakeholders so to ensure effective management of the plan.
* Assist payroll with managing existing company pensioners

Skills & Experience
* 5+ years' experience in managing Defined Benefit Plans and Company Pensioners
* Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships internally and externally to drive business outcomes
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in order to achieve agreed outcomes in a timely manner
* Ability to utilise data and reporting to enable data driven insights
* Vendor and partner relationship skills
* Demonstrated ability to work within and adapt to a changing environment with a high degree of flexibility
* Relevant business/finance tertiary related qualification
* RG146 accreditation
