St Vincent's Private Hospital is a 310-bed acute care adult tertiary facility with a diverse range of specialties including mental health services however excluding obstetrics and paediatrics. The hospital has recently completed a major redevelopment and now has state of the art facilities including all single patient room accommodation.

The hospital has a large and busy perioperative and operating suite footprint with a 12 bed ICU and a number of clinical wards. The hospital works closely with our sister public hospital on the campus and ensures the private patient flow from Emergency department is seamless.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the patient experience is seamless and patient /customer centred focused in all interactions with the hospital. This role will manage the governance framework of the hospital including health fund audit outcomes, clinical performance and innovation. This role ensures all reporting cycles for external providers including accreditation are met.

This role is a member of the hospital management team and a key expectation is to support the Hospital Executive to shape, implement and deliver upon organizational and strategic objectives through positive, open and collegial interactions with all stakeholders. This role is responsible for facilitating the highest level of patient focused care, in line with best practice, accreditation and governance frameworks and the philosophical values and mission of St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney (SVPHS) and St Vincents Health Australia (SVHA).

Essential Criteria:

  • Authority to practice nursing as Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

  • Working towards tertiary qualifications in nursing or management.

  • 5 years clinical experience in the nursing specialty.

  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience and skill or previous experience in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge on ward and staff resource management, patient acuity and perioperative services.

  • Previous experience managing and engaging with staff.

  • Demonstrated skills in time management, conflict resolution and negotiation.

  • High-level computer literacy.

  • Commitment to continued professional development.

  • Working knowledge of the national accreditation standards and strong commitment to a continuous improvement philosophy.
