Seeking a data governance expert to play a key role in strengthening VLA's data sharing processes

  • Full time maximum term position up December 2021
  • Salary commensurate with experience, range: $91,334 - $114,165 plus superannuation

About the role:
Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring adherence to our enterprise data governance framework regarding data policies, standards and practices in order to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, protection and compliance across VLA's data assets.

You will work closely with Data Owners, the Senior Management team and others to provide advice and support in order to improve the quality and value of core data assets.

This role will have a particular focus on:

  • Strengthening VLA's data sharing processes.
  • Increasing compliance against key standards of the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) relating to information value.
  • Educating staff on data management responsibilities and processes.

About you:
You are a data governance expert with substantial experience in data management best practice. You will demonstrate high calibre data capability and drive to ensure that reliable data is applied in decision making.

You will have a track record of striving to understand the work and context of your organisation to inform your approach. You will be able to demonstrate your strong understanding of Victorian public sector data governance, as well as your alignment with VLA's values.

Crucial to your success in the role will be your outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage and educate key stakeholders across the business on data governance
processes and procedures.
