Your new company
Lhere Artepe Aboriginal Corporation is a Prescribed Body Corporate operating under Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) to carrying out functions of a representative body in the municipal township of Alice Springs. They are currently seeking an experienced Compliance/Governance Support Officer for a 12-month fixed term contract.

Your new role
In this role you’ll be responsible for compliance and governance matters and will work collaboratively with LAAC Estate Group members and Native Title Holders in the developing and implementing a strategy for ensuring all corporations are compliant and initiate internal procedures. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting members and Native Title Holders to design and develop governance arrangements to meet organisational, operational and community needs
  • Assisting, mentoring and building the internal capability of LAAC and its 3 Estate group chairs and boards to work with members and Native Title Holders to identify and achieve sustainable good governance practices
  • Identifying and developing internal financial, operational and Procedural Schedules for the operations of LAAC which include business planning, strategic planning and internal operating manuals.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate you’ll have demonstrated experience in a similar role, managing compliance and Governance matters. You will be highly organised, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be flexible and adaptable with a high attention to detail and capacity to meet deadlines in order to deliver quality outcomes. In addition, you will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and demonstrated analytical, research and problem solving skills. You will also have an understanding of Aboriginal Affairs nationally and locally.
