Primary objective

Provide leadership and strategic direction on the governance, management and accessibility of Asset Management Data. Provide

expert advice on matters relating to asset data governance and management, including data system requirements, data collection,

data structure and integrity, and the integration and interfaces between asset information systems. Lead a small team.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide strategic direction for the governance of AM data and information system; develop a fit-for-purpose AM Information

Framework and Strategy; develop and manage the Asset Information Standard and processes, ensure ongoing compliance.

2. Lead a team of asset data specialists, including dealing with performance issues in a constructive and timely manner.

3. Develop and implement processes and methodologies to enable the transfer of data between data sets, and business cases

for the integration of Asset Management Information Systems.

4. Promote the availability of data, alignment of business process and data systems, centralisation, and the responsibilities of

data custodianship; work with business units to boost the use of centralised data across the division.

5. Maintain effective collaborative partnerships with a range of internal / external stakeholders to ensure clear alignment of

asset data strategies, standards and systems with DIPL Asset Management Policy and Strategy, and user requirements.

6. Prepare high level reports, recommendations and submissions.

7. Ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective reporting systems for all areas of responsibility.

8. Actively participate as a senior member of the Work Unit, contributing innovative ideas and solutions to improve outcomes.

Selection criteria


1. Highly developed knowledge of the requirements of asset data and information systems in respect to data structure, system

architecture and the role that asset data has in asset management, including the requirements of ISO 55001 for asset data.

2. Excellent leadership skills that foster a high performance workplace culture that inspires staff to work as a unified team to

achieve team objectives.

3. Proven experience in the development and management of contemporary asset data policy, strategies and standards and the

requirements of information systems to support.

4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-level technical reports and other documents.

5. Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively engage with internal and

external stakeholders to build collaborative and productive relationships.

6. Proven knowledge and skills in project management.

7. Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to develop solutions for complex issues, and continually

improve business processes.

8. Experience with Asset Management Information Systems, and using asset data to make evidence based decisions.


1. Degree in ICT, Computer Science or closely related field.

2. Qualifications and/or formal training in asset management and ISO 55000
