About the role

The Governance and Assurance Coordinator will carry out a range of Quality Assurance and Control activities across several sites, including review of Task Closing documentation to assure compliance with Work Instruction requirements. The role is responsible for preparing reports and making recommendations against a range of multi-disciplined (some integrated) activities and sub-contractors.

  • Review submitted closing documentation objective quality evidence (OQE) and assure compliant submissions to the client
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of the OQE review process in line with NSM business requirements and customer expectations
  • Conduct auditing/validating onboard platforms to assure task status against certification held
  • Report on OQE submission burndown and quality as projects complete
  • Performing quality assurance review of all required Forms, Templates and Work Instructions
  • Assist with development of new NSM employees and improve overall quality of OQE reviews
  • Development and formal reviews of production work instructions, processes and workflows, ensuring standardisation, continuous improvement and consistent application
  • Conduct quality interactions with sub-contractors during their performance of maintenance tasks to ensure their compliance with the task requirements and the relevant contractual requirements
  • Provide advice and support to project teams on Quality Assurance matters
  • Attend Project meetings to advise & support Project teams on quality matters


About you

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of business management system standards such as ISO 9001, 14001 or ISO 45001
  • Demonstrated experience with Naval seaworthiness requirements
  • High level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, etc)
  • Proven highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to collate, analyse and present data
  • Ability to work across a multi-disciplined environment Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting-1 level
  • MUST be an Australian Citizen


Desirable

  • Marine survey experience
  • Qualification in Maritime Trade or Discipline
  • Formal qualification in Quality and or relevant experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of Classification society rules and regulations for Naval ships
