The Role

Reporting to the General Manager - Retail Distribution, the Head of Retail Distribution Governance is responsible for driving the development and implementation of appropriate business procedures, strategies, governance frameworks and policies to ensure best practice business operations, operational risk management and full compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

You will oversee and manage all aspects of the Adviser Services functions including operational performance, business procedures, control monitoring and uplift, compliance requirements, alignment to product remuneration frameorks, staff training and development and regulatory obligations.

You will also lead MLCL’s Key Institutional and Mid-Tier Account Management Strategy, working with major Licensee clients to ensure MLCL is represented on their APLs.

Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to have an impact on one of Australia’s largest life insurers at a time of peak change and transformation.


About You

With significant Leadership experience within the Life Insurance sector, you will bring Licensee and Advisor knowledge and a sound understanding of the regulatory environment. You apply a continuous improvement and process efficiency lens to all you do and can talk to your success in assisting business areas in managing their risk in previous roles.

You have a strong understanding of advice partner activities and strategies including their associated regulations.

Your balanced set of skills includes critical and analytical thinking, people capability uplift, a bias for action and a preparedness to roll up your sleeves where required. An engaging and articulate communicator, your ability to work at pace in a dynamic environment will ensure success in this key senior leadership role.
