Remuneration:
ASO6, $92,784 to $98,143 p.a.

Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

Role Purpose/Context:
The Ministerial Liaison Officer is accountable for the development and maintenance of efficient, effective, and responsive liaison and project services between the Department for Innovation and Skills (DIS) and the Minister’s Office.

The Ministerial Liaison Officer will provide direction, guidance and coordinated advice to the Minister and Ministerial staff to progress and deliver the South Australian Government’s agenda with a focus on Innovation and Skills. Key responsibilities include:

Undertaking research to keep informed of new developments, trends, and issues in relation to the portfolio.

Undertaking duties of a sensitive and critical nature and dealing diplomatically with various stakeholders, including members of the public and other Government departments.

Assisting with the implementation of project management methodologies to support portfolio deliverables including representing the Minister’s Office at project-related meetings and forums.

Securing and enhancing the efficient and timely management of correspondence and briefings for the Minister’s consideration, through the establishment and maintenance of appropriate systems, procedures and relationships, processing evaluating and analysing reports and recommendations.

Key Selection Criteria:
Undertaking research to keep informed of new developments, trends, and issues in relation to the portfolio.

Securing and enhancing the efficient and timely management of correspondence and briefings for the Minister’s consideration, through the establishment and maintenance of appropriate systems, procedures and relationships, processing evaluating and analysing reports and recommendations.

Providing support for the delivery of portfolio outcomes for both economic and job growth to the State in the Innovation and Skills sectors, by defining and coordinating delivery timelines, developing and implementing risk management and communication management plans.

Special Conditions:
This is a term vacancy up to 11 February 2022. Some out of hours’ business work, intra and Interstate travel may also be required. Engagement in this role may be subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services background screening check.

Qualifications:
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in project management, business administration, engagement methods, commerce, economics or similar and/or relevant Innovation experience.
