This Victorian State Government Authority is accountable to government for the delivery of emergency services through its paid and volunteer workforce.

Your new role

The role of the Manager, Planning & Governance is to provide day to day direction, assurance and oversight of service delivery for the department. This includes but is not limited to leading the departmental business planning process, reporting on service delivery, ensuring governance processes within the department are best practice, overseeing the evaluation of the organisations programs and coordinating strategy, policy and procedural documents for the department.

Key duties of this role include;

  • Lead the business planning process in the department to develop the annual departmental work plan and shape the corporate business plan.
  • Managing a team of specialists who undertake the delivery of specific niche services, including mapping, program evaluation, policy review and quality assurance.
  • Manage key brokerage relationship with other managers within the department, directorate, the broader organisation and key government agencies.
  • Evaluate and review existing and proposed programs to ensure that these programs are effective and continuously improved
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to direct reports and Departmental staff.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven record of achievement in business planning and service delivery reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing high performing teams with strategic scope, influence and impact.
  • Experience developing policy initiatives and corporate strategies.
  • Proven record of identifying and leading the implementation of continuous improvement processes relating to governance, compliance and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and influence across an organisation or sector in relation to business planning, reporting and/or governance
