Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Governance Analyst to join the Data Governance & Analytics team to support the development, implementation and execution of SVHA’s Data Governance Framework. The role will also support SVHA’s analytics community of practice through forums and resources that will uplift the organisations data management, governance and analytics maturity.

The team’s portfolio is about to grow exponentially with an exciting enterprise wide analytics program to land key operational data to deliver financial optimisation, performance and compliance insights. Working across the organisation and with other key transformation projects, the analytics program aims to set up foundational corporate reporting with increased data accessibility and self-service, in preparation for the long-term strategy of a new EMR and Clinical Informatics.

The Data Governance Analyst Is Responsible For

  • the management, promotion and implementation of SVHA’s Data Governance Framework;
  • supporting the analytics community of practice through the management, implementation and coordination of forums and the development of a resource hub (, education, procedures, definitions);
  • working closely with business stakeholders and analytics community to ensure consistent data definitions and lineage;
  • building trusted partnerships with the analytics community, including the analytics team, Power BI citizens and stakeholders across the organisation;
  • engaging and inspiring the analytics community and business stakeholders through regular communications;
  • assisting business stakeholders to define operational BI reporting and data analytics requirements and deliver outputs in accordance with requirements and SVHA standards.
The successful candidate will have experience in data governance, master data management, data analytics and data lineage. You will have excellent service and professional standards and be able to prioritise work efficiently and solve problems independently. You will have excellent communication skills and be passionate about managing data to deliver business benefits.

Additionally, You Must Demonstrate
  • a high level of professionalism and personal integrity;
  • being a responsible self-starter, enthusiastic, innovative thinker, analytical, detail oriented;
  • experience in using engagement and collaboration tools and technologies;
  • excellent data analysis skills , manipulation and problem identification;
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint);
  • tertiary qualification, preferably technical, business, health or science field which includes data analysis elements;
  • Data Governance or related certification (completed).
Whilst not essential, knowledge and experience of the health industry and/or previous experience with patient administration and/or clinical information systems, will be highly regarded.
