The ES Chief Controls Office is a first line of accountability function who are a group of trusted and skilled risk management experts empowering CBA. The purpose of the ES Chief Controls Office is to enable CBA to be safe, sound and secure underpinned by strong risk management.

The Chief Controls Office works in partnership with the Enterprise Services business to deliver safe, sound and secure risk outcomes with:

• Risk management framework and tools

• Risk expertise and coaching

• Controls that are efficient, effective, sustainable and automated

• A greater preventative focus rather than detective

• Risk processes that are simple to understand and apply.

Do work that matters:

The Governance, Planning and Reporting Manager, ES CCO, will be responsible for providing support for all ES CCO forums and ensuring delivery of accurate and quality reports. The role will drive simplification of processes and perform analysis to derive insights to assist with forward planning and identifying topical items across the divisional and ES committees. The Manager work across multiple teams and gain exposure to key stakeholders, forums and understand key factors and considerations in managing risk.

Within the ES CCO Performance team, Governance and Practice Management is responsible for governance, orchestrating and creating reports for key ES forums as well as overseeing headcount management, partnering with Finance on the CCO budget and strategic planning across CCO as well as ad hoc initiatives. The team engage with a large number of stakeholders across ES and in Group.

On any given day you will be:

  • Drive continuous improvement across the ES and Divisional business unit CCO governance and reporting forums, specifically identify areas for process simplification or automation
  • Provide guidance to team members and stakeholders on the level and quality of information required
  • Coordinate and support the creation of various ES CCO reports including CEO and Board reporting.
  • Assessing and developing a forward view of insights to feed into agenda planning and identification of focus areas
  • Drive consistency and quality of key metric/ KRI commentary from control and metric owners.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to capture updates on ES metrics, KRIs, issues and incidents
  • Perform analysis on ES metrics, issues and EGM scorecards to determine focus areas
  • Engage with Line 2 to ensure alignment in reporting of issues, decisions and reporting coverage
  • Responsible for gathering and collating information to support development of ES and CCO reporting requirements
  • Responsible for the preparation and administration of governance forums, including minuting and action management.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Knowledge of Control and Risk frameworks
  • Some experience in a Risk role would be ideal
  • High attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, report writing
  • Experience in coordinating/supporting forums and committee meetings
  • Ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions
  • Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve
  • Demonstrate a risk mindset (ability to proactively identify and act on current and future risks)
